Alpine Canada is proud to announce that the new X009-FD1 Audio/Video/Navigation (AVN) system is now shipping. The X009-FD1 is Alpine engineered for select Ford F-150 trucks and is the third model launched from the new Alpine Restyle product lineup.

Alpine Restyle is a product, sales and marketing strategy focused on the truck and SUV market. The Alpine Restyle product lineup centers on the new X009 series of 9-inch AVN systems. The distinctive 9-inch touchscreen found on all X009 products is the largest AVN screen available in the aftermarket.

“The X009-FD1 system is a great expansion of our Alpine Restyle product lineup,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “We are excited to share the unique features of the X009-FD1 with F-150 owners.”

Custom Designed External Keys
The X009-FD1 is compatible with select 2009-2014 Ford F-150 models XL, STX, XLT, FX2, FX4 and SVT Raptor (it is not compatible with trucks that have the 4.2-inch screen with the MyFord® feature, the 8-inch touch screen with the MyFord Touch® feature, or the OEM navigation radio). The X009-FD1 consists of the 9-inch AVN system and custom designed key panel with back-lit buttons. Additional versions of the X009 AVN system packaged with an external key set for other Ford F-150 models will be introduced in 2015.

Included iDatalink® Maestro Module
Using the X009-FD1 allows many of the truck’s factory vehicle controls to be retained via the included iDatalink Maestro module and Ford F-150 specific T-harness. Retained factory features include voice-activated SYNC® media player, voice-activated SYNC® Bluetooth® wireless technology, steering wheel controls, and premium audio amplifiers. Examples of vehicle functions that are accessible through the Maestro module include tire pressure display, battery voltage display, door status and user selectable gauges (retained features and customized vehicle information vary by vehicle model).

Audio Features
The X009-FD1 can access various audio sources for a wide range of entertainment choices. It has a built-in HD Radio™ receiver for free digital FM/AM programming. The X009-FD1 is “Made for iPod and iPhone” compatible and connects to these devices through the rear USB access. Pandora® control is offered from iPhone® or from Android™ smartphones and audio streaming of music from smartphones is also available. The X009-FD1 is SiriusXM Ready and works with the aftermarket SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, subscription required).

Video, Navigation and Phone Features
The X009-FD1 has a full WVGA high-resolution display for detailed picture quality. The Independent Dual Zone feature lets drivers use a source in the dash while the back seat passengers watch a separate video on the rear seat screen (optional screen sold separately). The HDMI input allows for video playback from smartphones or other HDMI-equipped devices.

Navigation features include pre-loaded maps of the United States and Canada, 3D depiction of major landmarks, buildings and terrain details, and free lifetime traffic service. Hands-free calls can be made through the built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology. Additional features include secure simple pairing (SSP) for easy phone pairing, call waiting and icons for phone battery level and cellular signal level.

Customizable Sound Tuning and User Settings
The X009-FD1 is compatible with TuneIt 2.0, Alpine’s smartphone app for customizable in-vehicle sound tuning.
The user can also be notified of incoming activity on his or her Facebook wall through a pop-up message that
displays the sender’s name and photo on the X009-FD1. If the user chooses to accept the notification, TuneIt 2.0
plays the message back via text-to-speech and the user can “Like” the message through the press of a button. The
user can view posted photos and messages on the screen when the truck is parked.

The “My Favorites” feature lets users customize quick-access screens with up to 80 shortcuts to their most used features. Two separate users can each design up to 10 Favorites page profiles of eight shortcuts per page, such as audio sources, navigation commands and phone settings. If a front or rear view camera is installed in the vehicle, the camera views can be also manually selected from the My Favorites screen.
