Joel Seigel, President and CEO of Gentec International, is pleased to announce the expansion of Gentec’s Markham, Ontario facilities.

With the addition of 26,000 square-feet, the company’s headquarters now gives Gentec more than 100,000 square-feet of space to service its retail partners with even greater efficiency, reflecting Gentec’s ongoing commitment to customer service, support, and satisfaction.

“It was challenging going through the building process,” says Mr. Seigel, “but looking at the end product, we are glad that we did it. This expansion will allow us to better serve our customers, and will allow for future growth.”

To celebrate the occasion, Gentec hosted an open house attended by industry members and business partners from as far away as the U.S. and Taiwan. The official opening of the new section of the massive warehouse culminated with the Mayor of Markham, Frank Scarpitti, cutting the ribbon with Mr. Seigel and Margaret Adat, Gentec’s co-founder and CFO, and presenting the pair with a congratulatory plaque.

The new space features state-of-the-art construction, including high-strength steel storage racking that will provide up to 2,800 additional skid locations. Additional dock doors have been installed for receiving and returns processing, with the balance dedicated to shipping. The environment was also of prime concern in the new design, with environmental lighting and waste processing systems incorporated to ensure energy and environmental efficiency; high-output T5 light fixtures replace the old low-efficiency mercury lighting; and a Stormceptor has been installed to reduce rainwater overflowing into the storm system.
