Gentec International, the exclusive distributor of Gitzo tripods and accessories in Canada, introduces the new Traveler Tripods, boasting the 180° leg folding mechanism pioneered by Gitzo, made even stronger with the development of state of the art “Carbon eXact” tubes. The slimmest Series 0 tripod has been added to the Traveler family for the first time, while the Series 1 and 2 models reach new heights compared to their predecessors.

The new Gitzo Traveler tripods are the perfect companion for travelling photographers, both pro and advanced amateurs, who demand the best to never let them down in the field, whether near home or half way around the world.

The new Traveler Tripods boast the ground breaking Carbon eXact tubes: stiffer than Carbon 6X tubes found on previous Traveler models, the new tubes include High Modulus carbon fibre, and have larger tube diameters. For example, the lowest leg section of the Series 1, 5-section tripod has a diameter of 40% larger than the predecessor.

Traveler G-lock is a new, compact leg lock system dedicated to Traveler Tripods. Its space efficiency makes it possible to have taller tripods with compact folded lengths. The new, curved external form provides good grip, while the internal O-ring achieves softer operation and reduces dust and grit entering the locks.

The new Gitzo Center Ball Heads included in the kits (tripod and head) have been designed for ultimate smoothness and precision, while slim enough to fit between the folded legs achieving an incredibly compact package for travel.
All 4 tripod models are available with or without the new Centre Ball Heads, in a brand new range:

Series 0 – Models GT0545T / GK0545T-82TQD (with head): the slimmest Series 0 is added to the Traveler family for the first time. With its slim leg tubes, it is the lightest Traveler tripod, but thanks to the stiff Carbon eXact tubes it is surprisingly rigid. A 4-section tripod with short closed length and short extended height

Series 1 – Models GT1555T / GK1555T-82TQD (with head) and GT1545T / GK1545T-82TQD (with head): Series 1 has the perfect balance between lightweight when carrying, and height and rigidity when shooting. The 5 section Traveler has an outstanding height / closed length ratio, while the 4 section Traveler is much taller than its predecessor thanks to the space efficient Traveler G-lock.

Series 2 – Models GT2545T / GK2545T-82QD (with head): Series 2 has the largest tube diameters among Traveler tripods. It is ideal for photographers using longer lenses or requiring the highest stability. The feet are interchangeable with Gitzo’s optional feet, such as spikes and large feet.

The new developments designed for the Traveler Tripod have also been introduced in the Traveler Series 2 Monopod GM2562T: it now boasts Carbon eXact Tubes, the Traveler G-Lock and a new, more stable foot.

Traveler Tripods are a further demonstration of Gitzo’s commitment to research and development, focusing on the needs of photographers and equipping them with straightforward and elegant solutions.

The new Gitzo Traveler tripods are expected to be available at Gitzo authorized dealers across Canada in early September. The tripods and kits have a suggested retail price of $699.95 to $1,099.95, depending on configuration. The new Traveler monopod is also expected to be available in the first week of September with a suggested retail price of $349.95.
