Description
Industry-lauded capsule technology
The capsule of the ECM-L1 is based on the ECM-77 series, widely used and trusted by sound professionals along with Sony's other pro audio products. With the pedigree of the go-to microphone for professional broadcasters in both studios and on location, the ECM-L1 is designed to deliver professional results to a diverse range of creators.
Ceramic back plate
The high rigidity and excellent dampening properties of the ceramic back plate ensure superb acoustic properties as well as providing strong electrical stability for low-noise recording under a wide range of conditions.
Machined brass exterior
The microphone capsule is enclosed in a machined brass exterior to suppress unwanted extraneous resonances and provide a clear, crisp sound.
Oxygen-free copper cable
The high-purity OFC (oxygen-free copper) cable reduces transmission loss and protects the high sound quality of the recorded audio.
Ideal for voice recording
Lavalier microphones can be positioned closer to the speaker’s mouth, for superior audio capture and better audio definition than can be obtained from the built-in microphones in cameras and other devices located further away.
Brass housing
The microphone capsule is enclosed in a highly robust external brass housing that resists deformation and protects the microphone from damage even under the rigors of on-location use.
Rugged shielded cable
The 2-core shielded cable suppresses extraneous noise, and its 2.2 mm diameter makes it resistant to breakage. A locking ring prevents accidental disconnection from the recording equipment.
Two types of windscreens
The included metal and fur windscreens can be switched according to usage and environment. The metal screen is more visually discreet for situations when the microphone needs to be inconspicuous, while the fur screen is better adapted to reducing outdoor wind noise and interference from pop noise.
