Pro-Ject Audio Systems announces the release of two limited edition turntables in Canada. The two turntables include the Pro-Ject George Harrison Limited Edition and Pro-Ject The Beatles 1964 Limited Edition, in collaboration with Universal Music Group.

The turntable used in the George Harrison Edition is an Essential III, the evolution of a milestone. It features high quality and audiophile components, such as an Ortofon OM10 cartridge, a precision diamond cut aluminium pulley, top notch MDF chassis and an acrylic platter. Its sound is both lively and relaxing, musical and detailed just like the music from George Harrison, making them the perfect partners in crime. The artwork on the turntable was created by Studio Number One based on original artwork designed by Shepard Fairey, one of the best known street artists around, for the Harrison family. It features a distinctive portrait of George Harrison and forms together with patterns and an analogue mastering machine (below the acrylic platter) to create a very unique look.

The second limited edition turntable, the Beatles 1964, features copies of original tickets and brochures from their legendary tour between 1962 and 1966 during which they captured the world’s acclaim! During that time, the Beatles held 166 concerts in 15 different countries and 90 individual cities. The cultural phenomenon their touring helped create, known as “Beatlemania”, was something the world has never seen before and laid the foundation for the globalization of culture. Pro-Ject decided to use one of the most sold audiophile turntables ever for this unique design – the Debut Carbon Esprit SB. It features highest quality audiophile components, such as an Ortofon 2M Red, an acrylic platter, a carbon tone-arm, a top notch MDF chassis and built-in electronic speedcontrol for easier switching between playback speeds. The incredibly detailed print on the turntable includes multiple layers and surfaces, dried out instantly with special ultra-violet lights, to ensure perfectly displayed details and offer ultimate durability. This was the only way to make sure that all the details are transformed without loss and smear to the turntable, bringing a very well pronounced print and design to this unique masterpiece of a collectors item.

The Pro-Ject George Harrison turntable has a suggested retail price of $699.00 in Canada, while the Pro-Ject 1964 Beatles will be available for $899.00. Both turntables are available by special order with select authorized Pro-Ject Audio dealers across Canada.
