Joel Seigel, President and CEO of Gentec International, is pleased to announce a new Canadian distribution agreement with SmartLabs Inc., the world’s leader in home automation control and parent company to Smarthome, Inc., retailer of lighting and appliance control products using proprietary INSTEON technology.

“We are very excited to enter into this new partnership with SmartLabs, the leading manufacturer of affordable home automation products,” stated Mr. Seigel. “Smarthome products bring award-winning home lighting control and automation to Canadian consumers at a fraction of the cost of systems being sold today.”

“Smarthome was started with the premise that home automation shouldn’t be just for the rich,”  says Joe Dada, CEO of SmartLabs Inc. “We’ve been instrumental in bringing affordable home automation products to the typical American home and are very excited about our partnership with Gentec as they expand our distribution and retail penetration in Canada.”

Gentec will distribute a full range of Smarthome products to offer Canadian consumers a reliable and affordable remote control system for lighting and appliances. Using the Smarthome system, consumers will be able to manage their home’s interior features, such as wired or plug-in lights and appliances. Outside, the Smarthome system will allow control over landscape and security lighting, and garage lights and doors.

The innovative system can be controlled using multi-function switches, remote control keypads, or even a TV remote control. The easy Plug & Tap™ setup requires no central controller or networking setup. The fully-programmable system allows a multitude of customization and timer-controlled options to create favourite lighting “scenes” with the press of a button. It’s even possible to control the system from anywhere in the world using an iPhone, iPod or any web-enabled device. Smarthome home automation offers the benefits of security, convenience, and energy management.
