This is similar to the phenomena described in “Information Regarding the Nikon D5300 Cameras” that we have announced on November 19th.
However, for the Nikon Df cameras, it includes those lenses that do not have an internal AF motor, and the following products will require a firmware update.
For those customers who use Sigma lenses in Nikon mount with the Nikon Df camera, we are going to provide a free firmware update. Please note that all the products we dispatch from the factory will have the latest firmware.
Nikon Df Compatibility
Without the latest firmware, the OS and Auto Focus functions do not work properly when it is used with the Nikon Df cameras.
Concerned Products for Nikon Df firmware update
All Nikon mount interchangeable lenses not yet updated for the Nikon D5300 camera.
For the Nikon Df only it includes the following lenses that do not have an internal AF motor:

Gentec International Support – Firmware Update
For those customers in need of the latest firmware, Gentec International will provide a free firmware update from December 6th. Also, for lenses that are compatible with the SIGMA USB DOCK, it is possible to update the firmware via SIGMA Optimization Pro, please see further information noted below.
We are currently in the process of updating all of our inventory to ensure our shipments are fully compatible with the Nikon Df and D5300 going forward. All lenses that are updated for use with the Nikon Df and D5300 will have one of the following stickers affixed onto the product box:

Firmware update via Sigma USBDOCK
For lenses that are compatible with the SIGMA USB DOCK, it is possible to update them via SIGMA Optimization Pro. (Note only new Art, Sport and Contemporary lenses are USBDOCK compatible)
The updated firmware for the USBDOCK is currently available online for download. Current owners of new Art, Sports or Contemporary lenses who have USBDOCK’s can update their lenses at any time.
