Pro-Ject Audio Systems announces the release of a new high-end turntable model with ultimate performance in a luxurious configuration. While many of today’s audio electronics are hidden and controlled by smartphone or tablet apps, the analogue record player continues to live at the center of any real HiFi system, proudly presented like high-quality speakers.
For years, the legendary RPM series was one of the leading designs in analogue sound reproduction. The drop shaped base chassis provides a much better resonance isolation characteristics when compared to the standard rectangular shaped chassis.
Thanks to extensive research and development, Pro-Ject Audio is able to lift the classic RPM design to an even higher level. The RPM 10 Carbon uses a new extra-heavy chassis. It features a special CNC-machined MDF base with resin-coated steel pellets to form an extra-heavy and precise sandwich construction. A special complex heat treatment and carbon surface coating ensures superior low resonance levels for the listener, while the mass-loaded chassis is effectively de-coupled from its surface using magnetic feet.
Combined with a new special polished aluminium platter with internal TPE damping and a vinyl layer on top, the inverted ceramic main bearing delivers an absolutely stable turntable speed with extra-low rumble. The heavy outboard motor unit is equipped with precise motor control and features a built-in electronic speed selection switch between 33 & 45 RPM. The new heavy weight motor unit also integrates an electronic DC/AC power generator for cleaning up any AC generated noise.
A highly acclaimed 10″ cc EVO tonearm uses a conical tube made from carbon and an inverted bearing design, offering ultimate rigidity with ultimate internal damping. Highly flexible top-grade copper internal wiring is used, making the tonearm suitable for almost any high-quality MM and MC cartridges. Additional features include a TPE-dampened counterweight. All ingredients add up to a miracle in sound!
Every Pro-Ject RPM10 is delivered with a Ground It Carbon equipment base & top-grade 5P phono cable Connect It CC with RCA plugs (XLR is available as an option). The acrylic dust cover Cover It 1 is available as an accessory.
The RPM10 Carbon has a suggested retail price of $3999.95 and will be available at Pro-Ject Dealers across Canada as early as December.
