Dorothy Hayashi
As Gentec’s finance chief, Dorothy leads everything from cash flow management and financial statements to our long-term strategic planning. A certified Chartered Accountant, she joined the company in 1994 as an accounting manager and rose through the ranks to become Director of Finance in 2016. Gentec’s reputation of flexible customer service and rapid innovation is made possible by Dorothy’s steadfast financial leadership behind the scenes.

Dorothy joined Gentec after a decade’s experience with Deloitte and Rosenberg Smith & Partners, where she developed an aptitude for in-depth analysis and gained exposure to a broad base of industries and institutions. On top of her accountancy skills, Dorothy has expertise in various aspects of business, including logistics and human resources. As Director of Finance, she has used her experience to improve systems and processes across Gentec, such as streamlining divisional reporting, and has maintained and improved our trusted relationships with financial partners.

Dorothy gained her degree in business administration from Brock University, majoring in co-op accounting. On top of her Chartered Accountancy designation, she took a course in controllership through CPA Ontario, and is now completing its CFO program.
